Hi & Welcome To The K9sOverCoffee Blog!
I’m Barbara Rivers, a trilingual, 40-something dog lover, e-book author and the blogger behind K9sOverCoffee.
I hold a Master of Arts in American and French studies from University of Heidelberg, Germany, and a certificate in raw dog food nutrition.
My Blogging Journey
The blog K9sOverCoffee was born in August of 2014, featuring Missy & Buzz, my two Boxer Mixes.
After Missy’s cancer diagnosis, treatments, & recovery throughout late 2014/ early 2015, the blog’s focus has been on dog health using a combination of daily physical & mental exercise, species-appropriate raw dog food, and natural alternatives to chemical based skincare & pest prevention products.
I’m convinced that these lifestyle changes helped Missy be in remission from cancer for 3 years. Unfortunately, she was re-diagnosed with the disease in early 2018 and got her wings in late April. She is and will continue to be missed dearly until the day we meet again.
After my separation, Buzz has mainly been living with his Daddy. I welcomed a new furry friend into my life in January of 2019. He’s a lovable 38 lb Feist mix whose name is Wally West. You can read more about him in my post “Introducing Wally West, My New Dog”.
Wally is also raw-fed. As a matter of fact, his new raw diet has helped his many skin issues tremendously.
